How to Use Together

1. Begin S. boulardii: Start with the “Maintenance” dose recommended for your cat’s weight. Over the course of the next 7 days, gradually increase up to the “Advanced Care” dose.

2. Add in Gut Restore: Give 1 Gut Restore capsule daily for the first 3 days. Then progress to more frequent dosing as needed according to the recommendations.

Continue giving S. boulardii and Gut Restore together as directed.

Gradual introduction (for sensitive cats)

1. Begin S. boulardii: Start with half the “Maintenance” dose recommended for your cat’s weight. Over the course of the next 7 days, gradually increase up to the full “Maintenance” dose. Then, over the following 7 days, gradually increase up to the “Advanced Care” dose.

2. Add Gut Restore: Give 1 Gut Restore capsule daily every other day for the first 10-14 days. Then progress to more frequent dosing as needed according to the recommendations.

Continue giving S. boulardii and Gut Restore together as directed.

If an adverse reaction occurs

If symptoms worsen after beginning or increasing either Gut Restore or S. boulardii, temporarily reduce or discontinue use. Then, slowly restart each product individually.

Storage instructions

Store Gut Restore in a cool, dry place. Refrigerate the S. boulardii after opening, and use within 60 days.

Caution and veterinarian guidance

Do the Gut Restore capsules need to be given whole?

For maximum effectiveness, Gut Restore capsules should be given whole. Each capsule has a special coating that protects the healthy microbes in it from the stomach acid. The capsule opens once inside the intestines.

Can I continue giving my cat’s other medications and supplements?

Unless otherwise stated by your veterinarian, most other supplements and medications can be given with S. boulardii and Gut Restore. One major exception is high-potency bacterial products, such as those containing Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, or Enterococcus. These probiotics can steal resources from the cat-specific bacteria in Gut Restore and decrease its effectiveness. We always recommend checking with your veterinarian before changing any component of their regimen.
