Fecal Microbiota Transplant Capsules aka "Poo Pills"

The Gut Microbiome Restoration System contains the following items:

Fecal microbiota transplant capsules are made following stringent quality control guidelines and carefully designed standard operating procedures. We use capsules that are manufactured and packaged in state-of-the-art cGMP certified facilities meeting all health compliance requirements. These capsules are made using only 100% pharmaceutical grade gelatin derived from only beef and contain no pork.

Donors are screened for health, age, fecal consistency, behavior, and microbiome composition (based on Illumina sequencing of amplified 16S rRNA). The AnimalBiome team has more than 35 years of experience with molecular genetics, including PCR. Donated material is quarantined for at least 30 days to ensure that the donor remained healthy.

Donor samples are submitted for pathogen screening (both qPCR and culturing) to the UC Davis Real-time PCR and Diagnostics Core Facility, who has more than 15 years of PCR experience, stringent quality control guidelines, and well validated standard operating procedures.

For cats, the donated fecal matter comes from healthy indoor cats that have not had antibiotic treatment in the prior six months, have diverse and species rich microbiomes, are not overweight, and have no behavioral issues. Pathogen screening includes Clostridium difficile toxins A and B, Cryptosporidium spp, Salmonella spp, Giardia spp, feline coronavirus, feline parvovirus (Panleukopenia), canine parvovirus 2, and Tritrichomonas foetus.

For dogs, the donated fecal matter comes from healthy dogs who regularly go outdoors for walks, have not had antibiotic treatment in the prior six months, have diverse and species rich microbiomes, are not overweight, and have no behavioral issues. Pathogen screening for dog donors includes Clostridium perfringens antigen, Clostridium perfringens alpha toxin, Clostridium perfringens beta toxin, Clostridium difficile toxin A, Clostridium difficile toxin B, Cryptosporidium spp, Salmonella spp, Giardia spp, and Canine Parvovirus 2.

Supplies for two microbiome assessments that are to be collected prior to beginning the remedy and after completion. This involves collecting a small fecal sample and placing it into a sample vial that contains a fixative. It can then be shipped by mail back to our lab for sequencing.
